Children’s choir directors know that Advent and Christmas provide wonderful opportunities for children to sing in worship as well as special seasonal programs and concerts. Directors also know that this time of year can be one the busiest and most stressful parts of the church year.

As you (the director of children’s choirs) lead rehearsals and prepare your children’s choir for Advent and Christmas presentations, remember the importance of taking care of yourself! You laugh at these words (as do I!) – but the truth remains: healthy choir directors inspire and lead their singers to success. Remember to:

  • Eat and drink healthy foods
  • Get adequate sleep
  • Exercise
  • Meditate
  • Do something you enjoy (watch a movie, go out for dinner, watch TV, etc.)

If you happen to need a last minute Christmas anthem for your children’s choir – check out these simple, easy to learn pieces from SING AND CELEBRATE 5!:

RUN, SHEPHERDS, RUN!
