Travel Bucket List

Jeff Reeves:

My 3 bucket list destinations are:
Amsterdam
Brussels
Berlin

Why: Culturally progressive; celebrates diversity

Joseph Martin:

The Grand Canyon because I’ve never been.

Alaska, but I’m going for my 60th birthday!

Mackinac Island

Stacey Nordmeyer:

Alaska

The Grand Canyon

Niagra Falls

Pamela Stewart:

My three bucket list destinations:

Greece: for its beautiful waters and islands
Italy: for the food and golden glow of its stone buildings in the sunset
Scotland: because it is the country of my ancestors on one side

Heather Sorenson:

I struggled with this question for two reasons: 1) I like to go back to places to visit because I never feel like I can grasp it all the first time. So bucket list places are often places I’ve already been. 2) Traveling means debilitating motion sickness for me, so my bucket lists usually don’t involve travel. Unless there is a real bucket involved (lame joke, but seriously, if you’ve traveled with me…….) So here’s the list:

  1. Italy – I LOVE visiting beautiful cathedrals. I love the history of The Church.
  2. Greece – because I’ve seen pictures…
  3. Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket, etc. I love the sea, and I love the east coast.
  4. England – an extra one. So much history, and I can speak the language already.

Kevin Boesiger:

  1. The Mediterranean Sea
My wife and I have always wanted to take a Mediterranean cruise. We did a Caribbean cruise for our 25 anniversary – maybe this one can be for our 40th.
  2. Hawaii
It seems a little trite because it seems like everyone goes there, but I have never been there and would like to see it for myself.
  3. The Holy Land
This also seems like a typically Christian choice but it would be great to see the actual places where Jesus walked. Maybe I can combine this one with the Mediterranean cruise.

Cindy Ovokaitys:

I’ve found it isn’t always where one goes that makes the adventure incredible, but instead who one goes with!   So with that said, my bucket destinations include traveling with Joseph Martin and his wife, Sue, on a Journeys with Joe Tour!  Alaska sounds wonderful indeed, yet any peaceful place in the U.S. would do!  I would love it if Cindy Berry, Robert Sterling, and their spouses, my husband, and others as well all came along on the adventure!  (With Robert’s wife, that would make it Cindy x 3! Ha!)   The banter would surely be jovial, paired with enduring moments of spiritual blessing!  Plus, there would be singing, lots and lots of singing!

In addition,  I would like to see Australia with my husband, son, and the Campbells who are good friends of ours!   This, for all of the same reasons I mentioned above, except there probably wouldn’t be any singing unless I stand up and sing to the kangaroos while on some jeep tour!  I would do it too!

Lastly, I experienced going to the Niagara Falls when I was a young child.   I would enjoy returning, but this time on the Canadian side!  Since no one hears anything except waterfalls while standing there, my best companion would be my husband to hold my hand so I don’t slip in the puddles and Jesus to praise for the incredible beauty of God’s magnificent creation of it all!

Darian Krimm:

  1. The Vatican – To see the  beauty, tradition, and history of Christianity.  And to experience worship with thousands of other Christians from all over the world.
  2. The Great Wall of China – To stand in awe of one of the great Wonders of the World that was built over 2,000 years ago.
  3. Australia – I have always been fascinated with the culture of the Australian people and the diverse landscape of their country.

Joshua Metzger:

I love mountains, water, and cool air, so here is my list:

Alaskan Fjords – In college my choir toured the Scandinavian countries. We crossed the Baltic Sea from Finland to Sweden, and then cruised the majestic fjords of Norway. I have not spent much time in the Pacific Northwest, so I’d love to see how Alaska compares.

Scottish Highlands – My brother was married in England but, alas, I did not have the vacation allotment to extend the trip beyond a short jaunt to Paris. Have to go back.

New Zealand – I have never been down under. A trip to Hobbiton is in order.

John Parker:

Holland: home of Corrie ten boom
Austria: birthplace of so many great composers
France: Museums and cuisine
Mediterranean Sea: Greek Isles, other ports
