Themes: God gives strength to the weary, and those who hope in Him will renew their strength, they will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint; how good and fitting it is for us to sing praises to God, who delights in those who fear Him and hope in Him; Paul attempts to become all things to all people so that he might save some through the message of the gospel; Jesus heals many sick and demon-possessed people, and then retreats to a solitary place and prays.

Themes: A chariot of fire and horses of fire take Elijah up to heaven in a whirlwind; From Zion, God shines forth in perfect beauty, a fire devours before Him and a tempest rages; God has blinded the minds of unbelievers, and what the apostles preach is not of themselves; Jesus is transfigured in front of Peter, James, and John.

Themes: God instructs Moses to make a bronze snake, so that all who were bitten by venomous snakes may look at it and live; the psalmist exhorts the people to give thanks to the Lord, for He is good and His love endures forever; we are saved by grace through faith, and this is not of ourselves, so that we may not boast; God loves the world and gave the world His Son, and whosever believes in Him will not perish but gain eternal life.
